About Us

Carpenter's Fine Woodworking is a family owned-and-operated business. The company was created on the premise of building quality products and providing reliable customer service with integrity. Carl Carpenter -the shop's founder, owner and operator - was born and raised in Michigan, and he has lived in California since his early twenties. He is known among his peers in the industry for his creativity, uncompromising attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Carl has earned his well deserved reputation for operating a shop that gets the job done right the first time and every time!

Carl's wife Lena Carpenter came to California 1980 from Stockholm, Sweden. Soon after her arrival, she meet Carl and they have been together since then. She manages the office, marketing, and sales. She also in charge of the CAD programming of their CNC machines. However, you will find her working side-by-side with Carl in the woodworking shop when he needs her.

Both of their sons, Beau and Shane, are busily pursuing higher education. While studying at Palomar College, they have been enrolled in woodworking classes and they often help out in the shop. Their woodworking skills include building their own electric guitars. Those finished projects can be seen in the CNC portfolio.
